GC green M2571 7G3 A: Our sustainable material for smart applications

With GC green M2571 7G3 A, we offer a pioneering biocomposite material that optimally combines functionality, sustainability and processing efficiency. The material was specially developed for applications such as plant pots, clips, wildlife bite protection, clamps or flexible plugs with undercuts - wherever biodegradability and technical performance are required.

Naturally sustainable: biopolymer meets natural fibre

GC green M2571 7G3 A consists of bio-PBS, biodegradable additives and a natural fibre content of 25 %. The fibres used come from sunflower seed husks - a by-product of the food industry. This allows us to use a resource-saving raw material source that is not only biodegradable but also CO₂-saving: Compared to pure organic PBS, the material has an improved CO₂ balance due to the natural fibre content.

Technical advantages that impress

In addition to its sustainable composition, GC green M2571 7G3 A scores with a number of technical advantages:

  • Cycle time reductions of up to 30%

  • Energy savings of up to 20 %

  • Good flowability with an MVR of approx. 85 ±15 cm³/10min

  • Mechanically stable with a modulus of elasticity of 1600 MPa

  • Heat-resistant up to 92 °C (heat distortion temperature)

These properties make the material an attractive choice for industrial production - especially for injection moulding or thermoforming applications where sustainability must not come at the expense of efficiency.

On the way to OK biodegradable SOIL certification

GC green M2571 7G3 A is currently in the certification process for OK biodegradable SOIL. The material has already successfully passed the toxicity test. Complete biodegradation must now be demonstrated for final certification - a process that can take up to two years. However, the results so far make us very confident.

With GC green M2571 7G3 A, we are driving forward the transition to a bio-based circular economy. Whether as a plant pot, clip or protective product for outdoor use - this material combines technical quality with genuine sustainability.
