Next step: Plastic Waste free World Expo in Cologne

Focus on sustainability: Successful conclusion of Fakuma and outlook for the Plastic Waste Free World Conference & Expo

Fakuma 2024 is behind us and we can look back on an successful week at the show. From 15 to 19 October, we showcased our innovative and sustainable materials at the leading trade fair for plastics processing. We were particularly impressed by the high level of interest in sustainable materials solutions. This demand shows us that the need for environmentally friendly solutions in the plastics industry continues to grow strongly - and Golden Compound is right in the middle of it with its biomaterials.

Enthusiasm for sustainable materials at the Fakuma trade fair

Our stand at Fakuma was a meeting place for anyone interested in sustainable alternatives to conventional plastics. Our material GC green 71 MI T30 - a biodegradable compound that is not only sustainable in composition but also dishwasher safe - attracted particular interest. Many visitors appreciated this combination of practical and environmentally friendly properties.

Discussions with our customers and partners at the show confirmed once again that the market is demanding innovative, sustainable materials that meet the highest industrial standards. GC green 71 MI T30 has a wide range of applications and is becoming established not only in the homecare sector but also in technical products.

Sustainability remains the focus

In addition to in-depth discussions on specific product solutions, one overarching theme took centre stage: sustainability in the plastics industry. More and more companies are looking for ways to make their production processes more environmentally friendly and to convert their products to sustainable raw materials. A particular highlight of the show was our participation in a guided tour organised by Kunststoffland NRW, where we were able to present our sustainable solutions to an interested audience.

At the same time, however, it is also about the sustainable recruitment of skilled workers, in line with the motto of Fakuma Friday: mould your future, mould your dreams. We took part in careerfriday, where PlasticsEurope Deutschland e.V. organised a guided tour for students. This initiative gave us the opportunity to showcase Golden Compound and how our innovative materials are leading the plastics industry towards a more sustainable future. In addition, our colleagues Rita Shaqlawi and Josephine Donner were able to talk about their own careers in the plastics industry. Their presentation inspired many students to take a closer look at the exciting challenges and opportunities in plastics processing.

Plastic Waste Free World Conference & Expo: Our next stop

After the successful Fakuma, the next major exhibition is just around the corner: the Plastic Waste Free World Conference & Expo. We will be present at stand B08 in Cologne from 13-14 November 2024. The exhibition is a central meeting point for all stakeholders involved in the issue of plastic waste and sustainable alternatives. The main theme of the event - the fight against plastic waste - is of great importance to us as we want to actively contribute to the reduction of plastic waste with our innovative materials.

Visitors to the Plastic Waste Free World Conference & Expo can look forward to exciting discussions on more sustainable materials and processing methods. We will also be showcasing our latest developments and product solutions that fit perfectly with this theme. The focus will once again be on GC green 71 MI T30 pellets, which provide the answer to many challenges in the plastics industry: biodegradable, functional and with excellent mechanical properties. It is also dishwasher safe, making it particularly interesting for use in durable consumer goods.

Our commitment to a sustainable future

We are committed to being an active part of the change towards more sustainable plastics production. With every new exhibition and product launch, we see that awareness of environmentally friendly materials continues to grow. We are delighted that our innovative solutions are winning over more and more companies and that together we can contribute to a more sustainable future.

The Plastic Waste Free World Conference & Expo is the next opportunity for us to share our vision of environmentally friendly plastics with an international audience and to develop new ideas and solutions with industry representatives.

Why you should use compostable products in the living room too

"You can’t put that on the table – it’s compostable!"
We hear statements like this all the time when it comes to biodegradable products such as plant pots. But this common misunderstanding makes many people doubt bioplastics, which is completely unfair. In this article, we explain what biodegradable materials really do, why they do not "disintegrate on their own" and why they are even ideal for indoor use.

(Bio)plastics and water - an ambivalent relationship

On World Environment Day, it is worth thinking about the connection between plastics and water. Not many other materials have such a big effect on our waters – sometimes this effect is bad, but thanks to new bio-based alternatives, it is also becoming more positive.
